The Critter Cradle has
been designed to help you field dress your big game
animal quickly and efficiently. The Critter Cradle helps
the beginner or the expert do a better, faster job of
field dressing by keeping your animal out of the dirt
and in the optimum position of field dressing. The
Critter Cradle design has been proven in processing
plants for many years and is now available for your
personal use.
How it works:
The Critter Cradle
position minimizes the probability of puncturing the
paunch, intestines or bladder. Gravity keeps these
organs at maximum distance from your knife cuts.
Gravity pulls the legs
out and down and allows the body cavity to open
naturally as you cut. This provides maximum room to work
and helps you cut only what you wan to cut.
The carcass is firmly
planted allowing use of both hands for critical cutting
actions. You don’t need a buddy to hold a leg and there
is no spinning or swinging carcass as when hanging an
animal vertically.
By contrast, when an
animal is hung vertically the internal organs are
compacted into the chest area. The paunch and intestines
are crammed into a smaller space than normal and will
bulge out, hanging over as the cavity is opened. This
increases the probability of cutting or puncturing these
meat contaminating organs.
The animal is positioned
a few inches off the ground above dirt and mud. The
carcass is kept cleaner with less chance of
contamination.
In the case of a gut
shot, the solid elevated position and side cut-outs help
minimize meat contamination by facilitating quick
removal of the punctured organs over the flank area.

The Critter Cradle is
